The Westgate LV Superbook released their regular season win totals for the 2015-16 NBA season Tuesday and it is no surprise the Western Conference have the top three season win totals.Not only does the West have the top three season win totals, they own six of the top seven, with LeBron James' Cavaliers being the lone Eastern Conference team in the bunch.

The defending champion Golden State Warriors lead the way at 60.5 wins, followed by the Spurs at 58.5 and the Oklaoma City Thunder rounding out the trio at 57.5

On Friday, poker enthusiasts and opponents alike will get their answer as to whether the Supreme Court will hear a case that is being appealed in the state of New York. The case involves a bicycle shop owner who was holding a poker game amongst friends in the back of his bike shop.

Authorities arrested the man and charged him with operating an illegal gambling operation. The owner, who has been convicted, is appealing his case to the Supreme Court, asserting that poker should not be illegal because it is a game of skill.

There is precedent across the US on both sides of the issue. Several courts have ruled that poker is a game of skill, while others have ruled there is too much chance in the game for it to be considered a game of skill. Each state has their own laws regarding home poker games.

In Virginia, home games are legal. In Georgia, the same games are illegal. How the federal government sees poker is a key to states that are attempting to move forward and allow home games among friends.

If the Supreme Court decides Friday to take the case, it will serve as a mini-victory for those who want the law clearly defined. A Supreme Court ruling on whether poker is a game of skill or luck could also go a long way in shaping the future of the poker industry in the US.

Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey have recently taken the game of poker to the next level, regulating online casinos. Over 100,000 poker players have already signed up for accounts at New Jersey online poker sites that host games played for real money.

If New York opens the door to legalized online poker, there will be no shortage of gambling interests trying to get a piece of the action.

Representatives from Caesars, MGM Resorts International and the state’s racetrack casinos were among those who testified Wednesday at a state Senate hearing on the future of Internet poker in New York, where it’s currently illegal.

At various points, the individual gambling interests made the case — some subtly, others directly — that they’d be best-suited to hold an online-poker license should the game be legalized in the state, a step that’s far from certain.

“The Internet is the future, not just for the gaming industry but for any industry,” said John McManus, executive vice president and general counsel of MGM, the Las Vegas-based casino giant that was behind a social-media push in New York last year in favor of online poker.

The hearing was held by Sen. John Bonacic, an Orange County Republican who chairs the Senate Racing, Gaming and Wagering Board.

The Timberwolves have all the pieces to succeed in 2015 provided the young talent meshes together early on.

Youth doesn’t win often in the NBA, and since Minnesota is one of the youngest teams in the league, they are still in building mode. Staying injury-free will also be paramount; Rubio and Nikola Pekovic have missed close to 40 percent of their games since coming into the league.

Why Bet The Thunder: Oklahoma City slogged their way through an unfortunate 2014 season. The Thunder had to play without Kevin Durant for an extended period of time after he got injured. Russell Westbrook carried the Thunder on his shoulders, but with Durant back on the court, Oklahoma City has the most formidable 1-2 punch in the NBA. As long as the two remain healthy, Oklahoma City is a legitimate title contender in 2015.

Why Not To Bet The Thunder: The team must stay healthy, but that has been a problem the past couple of years. Durant and Westbrook have missed 107 regular season games combined the last two seasons. Oklahoma City also has a rookie head coach in Billy Donovan who left Florida to take this job. The pressure is on to win now, but if injuries repeat, the Thunder may underachieve once again in 2015.

Portland Trail Blazers (2014-15: 51-31 SU, 40-41-1 ATS)

Why Bet The Trail Blazers: Portland will be all Damian Lillard. He is the lone leftover from last year’s starting five and he has the ability to carry the team on his shoulders. The Trail Blazers are an extremely young team, but those guys are finally getting their chance to prove themselves. Portland will bring effort in every game and because of that, the Trail Blazers could be dangerous if their opponents overlook them.

Why Not To Bet The Trail Blazers: Portland is a shell of the team that won 51 games last season. And that’s why their season wins total has been virtually cut in half for 2015. With four of their five starters from last season gone, the Trail Blazers are starting from scratch. Portland is an unknown commodity coming into this season.

Utah Jazz (2014-15: 38-44 SU, 44-35-3 ATS)

Why Bet The Jazz: Utah has a tremendous frontcourt lineup that includes Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors, and Rudy Gobert. Those guys were key to Utah’s outstanding defense last season that held opponents to just 94.9 points per game which ranked No. 1 in the NBA.

Why Not To Bet The Jazz: Utah’s offense could not generate points consistently last season, and overall, they only averaged 95.1 points per game. The Jazz need improved point guard play from Trey Burke, especially since they play in the Western Conference which is loaded will elite point guards. Utah has little depth as well, so Utah must avoid major injuries to improve upon last year’s 38 total wins.
