Temporary Control Of Revel Casino In Atlantic City Goes To ChathamNO Deposit bonus $43

Published on February 12, 2014 by April Gardner

Revel Casino Hotel was expected to be the savior for the Atlantic City gaming industry after the industrial recession of 2008. The casino, which was going to modernize AC, was being built with billions of greenbacks invested, with the hopes of reviving the brand new Jersey gaming market.

That plan came to a crashing halt when financing ran out shortly after the recession. When the ability was finally opened, it did in an effort to much fanfare. Despite the attraction for gamblers, Revel fell well in need of expectations, signaling the overall changing of the guard within the Northeast.

With one bankruptcy under its belt, Revel majority shareholders Chatham Asset Management secured the approval this week of the brand new Jersey Casino Control Commission to grab control of Revel. Whether that implies Chatham might be a long-term solution, is yet unknown.

At the hearing to announce the approval, Chatham Principal Evan Ratner explained that the corporate is calling into all options for Revel. By not disclosing a selected plan, Ratner led industry experts to believe that the corporate can be looking to sell, or take Revel through another round of bankruptcy.

Some interesting names have popped up as possible investors into the power. The Seminole Tribe of Florida has expressed their interest in purchasing Revel. The Seminoles currently have a monopoly on table gaming in Florida, with a compact the tribe signed with former Governor Charlie Crist set to run out in 2015.

Caesars Entertainment, with casinos within the US, is another potential buyer. Caesars has made their move into the Northeast during the last decade, and believes they may prosper within the second-largest gaming market at the East Coast.

Two years ago, Pennsylvania overtook New Jersey, for second, behind only Nevada relating to overall casino revenue. New Jersey made some changes to their state law, specifically authorizing online casinos, as a way to regain the highest spot within the Northeast.

Workers unions were present on the commission hearings this week, with the hope of preserving casino employee jobs. Thousands of workers has been laid off lately in Atlantic City casinos, and the union desires to ensure no further workers are lost within the cost-cutting measures of the Revel.

Negreanu rivers straight flush to overcome quads in #KidPoker celebrationNO Deposit bonus $43

Daniel Negreanu has played for millions quite a lot of times. But never for billions. Until last weekend!

Before we get too over excited let's be clear that this was for play money. But, as many players have discovered within the past, the play money arena, instead of being a walk within the park, is usually a humiliating leap right into a bear pit for the uninitiated.

But before we get over excited much more let's be reasonable. #KidPoker thrived.

The tournament was a unique one hosted to celebrate the discharge of Daniel Negreanu's documentary KidPoker.

And when you might think a play money tournament would go away entry open to anyone, you would be wrong. With a buy-in of 500,000 this was an exclusive contest with 1,000,000,000 (that's 1000000000 - numbers so ridiculous in length are fun to type) chips guaranteed and a 10,000,000 bounty on Negreanu's head.

Ready to join PokerStars? Click here to get an account.

With a field of 306 entries (with 64 re-entries) that meant a large overlay and a reason to follow the action on Twitch, that's exactly what Randy "Nanonoko" Lew found himself doing, playing along until he was eliminated by the eventual winner.

Was that winner Negreanu? Not quite. Bowie825 took honours, while Negreanu finished third, despite taking the chip lead into the overall table and at one point beating quads with a straight flush when all in at the flop:

Not a nasty solution to celebrate the discharge of KidPoker, details of that you can find here. AN EXCELLENT film about arguably poker's greatest player, now available on Netflix.

Not a nasty play money player either.

Published on March 5, 2014 by April Gardner

Saratoga County leaders have seen the brand new state law a good way to allow casinos in New York, and although state voters approved the measure within the last election back in November, Saratoga doesn't need to join the expansion.

On Tuesday night, a hearing was held with over 300 Saratoga residents in attendance to speak about the problem of expanded casino gambling. After paying attention to arguments from all sides of the equally split crowd, a resolution was passed to maintain Saratoga freed from any new casinos.

The issue will likely now become one who is fought between Saratoga and the state. Big apple desires to bring a casino to Saratoga Springs, mainly to the famed racing course.

Saratoga officials, however, argue that once the state voted back in November, a big majority of Saratoga residents voted against the measure to bring new casinos to the state. They have got used that information because the base for his or her opposition to a brand new casino of their county.

Various speakers voiced their opinion Tuesday. Anti-casino activists claimed that a casino in Saratoga would hurt the present business owners. Others asserted that their children will be the people to pay for a brand new casino down the road.

Those in favor of a casino explained that the revenue generated from the brand new gaming establishment would help get the county budget in order., in addition to provide new job opportunities.

New York has made a robust push to be some of the gambling centers within the Northeast over the last few years. State officials believe that with some of the largest populations within the world, Ny would become a haven for casino gambling, similar to Nevada is out at the West Coast.

NBA Finals Game 7 action report: Betting public struggling to pick out a facetNO Deposit bonus $43
All of it comes all the way down to this. Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Will or not it's Cleveland completing the miraculous comeback? Will it's Golden State repeating as champion? More importantly, heading into Sunday’s 8 p.m. tipoff, what are the bettors saying? Covers talks concerning the matchup with Jeff Stoneback, sportsbook manager on the Mirage at the Las Vegas Strip, and John Lester, senior lines manager for offshore site Bookmaker.eu.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors – Open: Warriors -5; Move: Warriors -4.5, -5

LeBron James and the Cavaliers are at the precipice of history. No team has ever come again from a 3-1 series deficit within the NBA Finals, but Cleveland has sure gave the look of it will become the primary after winning Games 5 and six in convincing fashion. On Thursday night, the Cavs evened up the series with a 115-101 victory as a 2-point home chalk, earning the best to go back to the West Coast tonight.

The Mirage opened at Warriors -5 and bounced from side to side between 4.5 and 5 a pair times before resettling on the opening number.

“We’ve got rather a lot of cash at -4.5 at the Warriors, and that forced us back to 5,” Stoneback told Covers this morning. “We took a six-figure wager at the Warriors at -4.5 on Saturday. Throw that out, though, and out of the entire tickets written, there’s only three more at the Warriors than at the Cavaliers. So far as people arising to the betting window, it’s split 50-50. There’s just extra money at the Warriors.”

When Bookmaker posted the sport 7 number at -5, shortly after Game 6 ended, Lester said Golden State bettors were on it.

“We took some big bets from public bettors and bumped the spread to -5.5,” Lester said, adding that some sharp Cleveland money came right after that move. “A client we respect must've assumed that will be the ceiling and took the Cavs at the spread and moneyline. We then dropped back to the opener, and early Friday morning had moved to as little as -4.5.

“Action at the home squad has pushed the number back to the opener, but I doubt we'll budge from that again. Right now, the entire bets are almost 50-50, and the money is 60-40 in favor of Cleveland.”

Bookmaker opened the full at 207 and, similar to the spread, has seen the number bounce around.

“The sharp bettors was consistently betting under the total, and so they did the similar for Game 7. We opened at 207.5 and within a few minutes had dropped a point,” said Lester, whose shop dropped further to 206 Friday, then climbed back to 207, where it was steady until sharply dropping all the way down to 205.5 earlier today.

“We’ve taken some substantial bets at the under and Cavs moneyline this morning,” Lester said. Cleveland opened at +180 at the moneyline and is now at +165.Summer Sundays are usually slow at Vegas sportsbooks, but that won’t be the case tonight, with crowds expected to be large and loud, particularly at spots similar to The Mirage.

“Usually this time of year, it’s dead. People sitting around watching golf,” Stoneback said, paying attention to today’s final round of the united states.. Open. “But tonight, there’s a variety of excitement, an excellent storyline, and it will be standing room only.”

Rodrigo Strong hangs tough, leads UKIPT Marbella final tableNO Deposit bonus $43

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 rodrigo strong.jpg

A strong performance from Rodrigo today

Fifty-five players returned today and while shall we only guess at which eight would make the general table, from some distance out it seemed a near certainty that Rodrigo Strong can be amongst them.

The overnight chip leader went from strength to strength today and not lost top spot at the leaderboard as he powered his option to the general table. A cooler of a hand against Janina Burger, by which they both flopped trips, meant he had almost 1 / 4 of the chips in play with 22 players left and he further increased his stack to finish the day on 7,2350,000. Good for 34% of the chips in play. The LAPT9 Chile champion is having an unbelievable year and just as in March, when he won his LAPT title, he'll start the general day as chip leader.

Final table chip counts:

         Seat Name Country Status Chips
1 Bob Janssens Netherlands PokerStars Player 2,810,000
2 Armin Zoike Germany PokerStars Qualifier 1,655,000
3 Milos Skrbic Serbia PokerStars Qualifier 2,090,000
4 Rodrigo Strong Brazil   7,235,000
5 Michael Ozimek Poland   2,610,000
6 Alexander Voytko Israel   1,370,000
7 Nikola Ristivojevic Serbia PokerStars Qualifier 850,000
8 Jonathan Schuman United Kingdom   2,325,000

The following is set Strong from our LAPT blog in March: "he scored knockout after knockout, winning nearly every all-in encounter he found himself all in favour of en path to ending the night with the eight-handed chip lead."

Have events in Marbella inspired you to start out playing poker? Click here to open a PokerStars account.

That quote is equally apt today as Strong barely put a chip wrong and to focus on only one hand, he made quads to eliminate Alejandro Vazquez in 12th place. He nearly always had double the chips of whichever player occupied second place. In short, he crushed it.

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 bob janessens.jpg

A hi there for Janssens

It's a worldly final table with out a not up to seven nationalities represented and in contrast to Strong, who knows what it's love to win an immense poker tournament, nearly all of people who line up behind him are still looking ahead to their breakout result.

While Strong's route to the general table was serene and untroubled the similar cannot be said of Bob Janssens. Over nine hours of play he scrapped his strategy to the general table. What's more his day should've been done at the first hand of play. He got his 20 big blind stack in with A♣J♣ and rivered a jack to overcome Nick De Groot's pocket nines.

He never looked back and a very important hold with jacks against ace-king with 14 players left means the Dutchman goes into tomorrow's final table as Strong's nearest challenger.

PS Marbella Festival-324 Romain Feriolo.jpg

Feriolo finished ninth

The Dutchman secured that spot by scoring the overall knockout of the day when he eliminated Romain Feriolo in ninth. He's so old skool he final tabled the primary ever EPT Grand Final. He finished fourth in that event earning €139,000. That is not his only EPT final table though as he six months later he finished eighth at EPT2 Barcelona. The Spaniard was second in chips for enormous swathes of today but a mistimed bluff and an ace-king v kings cooler meant he started the unofficial final table of nine because the shortstack. He took his final stand with A♦J♦ but couldn't beat the A♣K♠ of Janssens.

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 nikola ristivojevic.jpg

Nikola Ristivojevic

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 Milos Skrbic.jpg

Milos Skrbic

That exit means there are now no Spaniard's on the final table. Not just that, but there are more Serbians than Brits on the final table, with Milos Skrbic and Nikola Ristivojevic both a number of the final eight. They both started Day 3 some of the top five stacks so it is not a tremendous shock that both are still in contention. They're room mates here in Marbella and travel the circuit together.

Ristivojevic doubled up Alexander Voytko during nine handed play so will start the day because the shortest stack while Skrbic enters the overall table in fifth place.

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 armin zoike.jpg

Armin Zoike

Germany's representative on the final table is Armin Zoike. He had an eventful day, a few of which occurred before he'd even played a hand. He was conspicuous by his absence when play got underway. On his method to the tournament he cut his head and it needed slightly patching up before he could play. He turned his start of day 752,000 into 1,655,000 by play's end.

Despite cashes within the Aussie Millions main event and at EPT Campione irrespective of where Zoike finishes tomorrow it will be his largest live tournament cash to date

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 alexander voytko.jpg

Voytko - needed some luck

I think we will be able to all agree you wish to have a healthy slice of luck (in addition to skill) to capture a poker tournament and if Alexander Voytko is victorious tomorrow he'll likely look back on a hand against Nikola Ristivojevic as a large momentum swinger. With nine players left the 2012 Israeli poker champion was all-in and in peril with Q♥9♣ and needed help against Ristivojevic's A♠8♥. A queen at the flop kept his interest on this tournament alive and he'll start tomorrow in seventh place.

Voytko might argue he's due some luck as though you cast your mind back to Day 1A he lost a 120,000 chip pot on the death when a dealer erroneously mucked his cards.

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 michael ozimek.jpg

Ozimek's the only Pole left in

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 jonathan schuman.jpg

Schuman is flying the British flag

Tomorrow may be a large day within the poker lives of Mikhal Ozimek and Jonathan Schuman. The Pole will score his biggest ever live cash should he manage seventh of higher. And if Schuman follows suit he'll, on the very least, double his lifetime live poker earnings. The pair will start third and fourth respectively.

UKIPT6 Marbella day3 albert sapiano.jpg

Sapiano lit up the tournament

To make the overall table of eight we would have liked to lose 47 players today and it was with some sadness that the general table won't be enlivened by the presence of Albert Sapiano. He exited in 15th place and his final hand was a microcosm of his personality. He'd complained of being card dead and at last found a hand with which to boost - the mighty 3♠2♣ because it happened - on a K♠3♦6♦ flop he open shoved and bumped into Armin Zoike's slowplayed aces. A COUPLE OF f-bombs followed as he made his exit stage left. He'll be missed but not forgotten.

Other players who needed to hop into side events today in the event that they desired to play more poker were: June Jenkins (53rd), Yannis Liperis (48th), Gareth De Groot (44th), Kevin Monroe (29th), Janina Burger (23rd) and Kjell Lindqvist (16th).

You can see the excellent list of within the money finishers by clicking here, whilst you make amends for all today's action should you click here. We'll be back at noon to bring you final table coverage. There's the small matter of € 151,350 and the trophy to play for.
