The operators of what remains of Benny Binion's gambling empire announced they might be closing the casino's hotel to chop operating costs.

TLC Casino Enterprises, the present owner of Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel in Las Vegas, announced it might end hotel operations, together with keno and occasional shop services, to avoid wasting on costs. The enduring property, which rose to fame under founder Benny Binion, will still run the casino, together with the poker and sports betting facilities and Binion's Steakhouse.

The casino was the unique site of the sector Series of Poker, dreamed up by Binion with the intention to determine the world's best card player once a year. The hotel shutdown means 365 empty and abandoned hotel rooms within the heart of downtown, another victim of the recession.
