WSOP 2016: Pick your storyline as Main Event heads to Day 5NO Deposit bonus $43

The bonhomie is sort of off-putting. Two men in an elevator, trapped for a moment in a talk about their futures, both still alive within the biggest tourney on the planet and knowing that one or either one of them might be exiled before midnight. But there they are, commiserating in regards to the slings and arrows, the twists and turns, and all of the hell they could soon face. They want one another good luck, and they're sincere about it. Both knows they want good fortune, and they're going to take its wishes from anyone, even a person who hopes to kill him.

It's a fair story, no? It's Westley and Inigo Montoya wishing one another luck before going to battle. It's two fighters touching gloves. It's where all good stories begin before the bloodletting begins.

Tonight, now we have our pick of excellent storylines, and so do you. By this time tomorrow, none of those stories could have an opportunity. Right now, though, with a pair hours left within the day you'll play Choose Your individual Adventure.

Maybe it is a longshot at this hour, but we're biased and rooting for it anyway. With fewer than 400 players left within the field, there are just three PokerStars patches in the market. They belong to Marc-Andre Ladouceur, Jennifer Shahade, and Jason Somerville. Each of them has a storyline in their own. Ladouceur began the day with a top ten stack. Shahade is deeper on the whole Event than she's ever been. Somerville is constant to prove there are two sides to his personality.

While these storylines remain, those of Liv Boeree and Aditya Agarwal ended today. Boeree (who's giving a few of her winnings to charity) and Agarwal (whose progress we updated through his entire tourney) both cashed today but fell in need of an afternoon 5 berth.

After the dinner break today, the primary feature table of the primary Event formed, and it was easy to pick out. Former champs Greg Raymer and Ryan Riess were both sitting on the same table, and there has been no way ESPN was passing up that chance. Raymer doubled up within 25 minutes of sitting right down to give himself a possibility at his deepest run since 2005.

Meanwhile, Johnny Chan sat out in the course of the room, giving the 2016 WSOP three potential repeat champs.

These days, a number of the online heroes also are live heroes, so it is not particularly fair to name a player one or the opposite. Still, imagine the thrill within the online community if someone like Shaun Deeb, James Obst, Tom Middleton, Tom Marchese, Sorel Mizzi, or Chris Hunichen managed to make the general table of this event. Any of them are in a position to a deeper run, they usually all have the chips to do it.

There is a great chance you know Kenny Hallaert, but you can also not know he spends most of his working hours behind the curtain engaged on the Belgian Poker Challenge. Today, he's working to never must worry about working again. He spent an even a part of the day with the chip lead and still had an above-average stack heading into the last level.

Meanwhile, PokerStars' French blogger and filmmaker Victor Saumont is taking his time within the spotlight after spinning lower than $600 right into a Main Event entry.

It could happen this year. The talent among women on this Main Event has rarely been more pronounced. Along with Shahade's climb during the field, at one point today two of poker's best, Maria Ho and Melanie Weisner were within the first two spots at the leaderboard. That isn't to say Gaelle Baumann and one among poker's funniest talents, Jamie Kerstetter, who were still in action late tonight. Any of them could win this thing.

While all of these stories are in play on the time of publication, anything could change within the following couple of minutes, and if not then, then by this time tomorrow. For now, think at the possibilities and tell us your favorite by tweeting us on our @PokerStarsBlog account.

After today, there are just three more days of play before we hit the November Nine. There is no such thing as a lot more time for the storylines to modify. Play resumes Saturday at noon Vegas time and can run all of the way into the early Sunday morning hours. Stick to us for the entire behind-the-scenes coverage. Who knows? We could get an ideal story out of this one yet.
