EPT Deauville: Side events round-up; Goumont wins the Turbo

The €500 Turbo has finished tonight with Frederic Goumont defeating Kent Roed for both the €11,350 first prize and the gorgeous trophy. In the last hand of the night, Goumont's K♣Q♥ triumphed over Roed's A♠8♥ by flopping a full house on the Q♦Q♠K♦6♥8♦ board. As a consolation, Roed picked up €7,880 for his second place finish. Petr Jelinek, who won the €2k event the other night, managed to finish in 7th place for €2,030.

In the €800 Deepstack, play has finished for the day with 12 players remaining led by Philippe Le Touche with 470,000 ahead of Ilan Boujenah with 389,000. Other players still in include Olga Iermolcheva (166,000), Daniel Lannermark (140,000) and Ekaterina Bibikova (102,000).

Registration has closed in the €1,500 Hold'em event with 111 runners in total. This means a first prize of €41,500 with 15 places being paid a minimum of €2,720. Among those still involved are Ivan Soshnikov, Pierre Neuville, Dario Sammartino, Paul Testud, Joseph El Khoury and Konstantin Puchkov. Day 2 will restart tomorrow at midday.

Finally the Grasel Sweets EPT SuperStack saw a field of 180 players take their seats, just 116 currently remain at this moment with Yohan Figueiras and Tarek Bouchama among those players still involved. First place pays €7,570 and a total of 27 places will be paid a minimum of €350.

The final day of the EPT Deauville Poker Festival sees a total of seven side events alongside the EPT Main Event and High Roller final tables. With three events from today restarting, there is also the €5k Turbo 6-Max, a €300 Turbo edition of the EPT Main Event with 15 minute levels, there's also a €2k Turbo 6-Max and the final event of the festival will be a €100 Hyper Turbo beginning at 5pm.
