Our first elimination came fairly quickly, but neither of our short stacks was the first to go.

It was a clash of two medium stacks that started the day nearly even in chips.

In our first elimination of the day, German Christiansen raised to 35,000 from middle position and Hilario Quijada called. Ruben Barros raised to 102,000, Christiansen folded and Quijada called.

There was a nine-high flop and Barros bet 150,000. Quijada moved all-in and Barros quickly called.

Barros turned over pocket aces while Quijada tabled a set of nines. The turn and river bricked for Barros and he became our 8th place finisher.

For the finish, Barros won $19,580 while Quijada chipped up to about 1.1 million.

Then we lost a short stack.

Chadi Moustapha raised to 135,000 from the small blind and Jorge Alberto Cantos called all-in from the big blind.

Moustapha turned over A♣7♣ and then snapped back in surprise when Cantos tabled T♥3♦.

The flop came 8♣Q♣A♠ and then Moustapha screamed, "Seven!" when the 7♥ came on the turn.

"Seven's my lucky number," Moustapha said.

Cantos was drawing dead and an inconsequential 4♠ came on the river. The tournament shrunk again.

Cantos won $26,660 for his 7th place finish while Moustapha's lead grew to about 1.8 million.

Then Lopez took the lead from him.

The two have been seated next to each other since yesterday and haven't had any qualms about clashing.

In one big transfer of chips, Lopez raised to 35,000 and Moustapha re-raised to 87,000. Lopez called and the flop came Q♥4♠5♥. Lopez checked.

Moustapha bet 55,000 and Lopez raised to 150,000. Moustapha called and a Q♣ came on the turn. Lopez fired away for 85,000 and Moustapha called.

A T♦ completed the board and both palyers checked. Moustapha turned over A♣5♠ while Lopez tabled pocket kings to take down the hand.

After that, Lopez took another big pot off of German Christiansen and is now up to about 2.2 million.
