In recent Daily Fantasy Sports news, Washington Redskins receiver Pieere Garcon has filed a class-action lawsuit against DFS operator FanDuel for profiting off his representation and name without giving permission. Garcon filed his lawsuit on Friday in a Maryland Federal Court and is seeking compensation.
FanDuel is accused of repeatedly using Pieere Garcon’s name and representation to benefit themselves, or their operations with numerous TV advertisements and on its website. Garcon has argued the point that other NFL players and himself should receive some sort of compensation from FanDuel for the use of their name since the revenues for the company since using his likeness has increased.
He said in a statement that he filed the lawsuit “on behalf of myself as well as any other players who are being treated unjustly.”
