The Horseshoe casino brand will soon be gone from the state of Ohio as billionaire Dan Gilbert’s Rock Gaming announced this week that it will now be called Jack Entertainment. That means that Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati will be called Jack Cincinnati Casino, according to Cincinnati.com.

Likewise for Horseshoe Casino Cleveland. Both will have new names by mid-summer. New names for ThistleDown Racino in Ohio and Greektown Casino in Detroit are forthcoming as well.

Caesars Entertainment, owner of the Horseshoe brand, sold its 20-percent stake in the Ohio facilities to Gilbert last year. It was announced in November that Caesars would no longer be managing the properties. ClubJack will replace Caesars’ Total Rewards network.

Rock Ohio Caesars was formed in December 2010 by Rock Gaming and Caesars Entertainment to develop and operate the new casinos. Ohio legalized casinos in 2009. Penn National Gaming owns and operates Ohio’s two other casinos, one in Toledo and one in Columbus.

An operating unit of Caesars is still in the midst of a complicated bankruptcy process to try to shed nearly $10 billion in debt. Despite this, Caesars recently reported that it had its best full-year of operating results since 2007, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
