Nevada Poker Rooms Rake $9.5M In January

Nevada’s 71 poker rooms in January collectively raked $9.5 million, according to figures released Friday by Silver State gaming regulators. The revenue was a 2.85-percent decline compared to January of last year.

Nevada’s 71 poker rooms had a combined 661 tables last month. January 2015 had 687 tables statewide.

The Las Vegas Strip area had nearly $6 million of the statewide poker revenue, with 21 of the poker rooms and 307 of the tables. Strip poker revenue in January 2016 was a drop of 2.65 percent year-over-year.

Poker rooms in Nevada raked a little over $118 million in 2015. The figure was a 1.57-percent decline compared to 2014’s $119.9 million. Poker revenue was $123.9 million in 2013.

The all-time high for Nevada poker was just under $168 million in 2007. Since that year, revenue has fallen year-over-year in all but one year. Calendar year 2013 had a 0.56-percent uptick compared to 2012.
