There's always something interesting a few new tournament, be it a brand new format, structure, or the addition of a gimmick to show a tournament on its head. This time though it is all within the name - or your name to be specific.

Inspired by the work of Team Online's Lex Veldhuis last month, when he reached the general table 3 times within a week, we're renaming a $11 buy-in, $5,000 guaranteed prize pool contest "The Open". But we are hoping the name changes soon, and frequently. Here's why.

"The Open" is simply its provisional name. When you can come as regards to Lex and reach the general table twice inside the same week, we'll name the tournament when you. The Open turns into "The (whatever your name is) Open". A small piece of immortality in a corner of the PokerStars tournament lobby.

It all starts today (Monday 5 September) at 14:45 ET (7.45pm UK) with a buy-in of $11 and a guaranteed $5,000 within the prize pool. It's hold'em all of the way and, for the reason that the sphere on this event regularly tops 500, we've made two appearances on the final table enough to have your name in lights, in place of Lex's three. Your name will stay there for so long as it takes someone to equal your performance.

Sure, the guaranteed prize pool means you will get a tight pay day, however the bragging rights undergo the roof.

Currently though The Open is and not using a headliner, something which might change as early as Sunday. That part is all the way down to you.
