The Nevada Gaming Control Board is cautioning holders of state licenses to function casinos to not get entangled yet with online gambling projects. Board member Randall Sayre published at the board website a letter he wrote to an anonymous lawyer advising that clients be informed to refrain from doing business with Internet casino operators.
Sayre went directly to say that agreements between licensees and unlicensed online gambling sites are "inconsistent with the Nevada Gaming Control Act."
Currently, Harrah's Entertainment has developed its own Internet gaming branch, while several land-based casino companies are rumored to be in negotiations to partner with established online casinos within the event the U.S. Internet gambling market is opened.
Sayre says ongoing relationships are being currently investigated by board regulators. He called a choice to bypass connections with Internet gambling by Nevada casinos "sound from both a state and federal perspective."
Harrah's gets online gaming software from 888.com, in order that company is under review by the board to whether it meets rules to do business with a licensee. Consistent with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, that is the primary time an internet gambling operator who had accepted wagers from US residents is also cleared for Nevada business relations.
