In the past week the ecu Poker Tour has ended it’s 12th season while the sector Poker Tour kicked off it’s 15th. Both tour’s events had big impacts at the 2016 Card Player Player of the Year race. WPT Canadian Spring Championship

Seth Davies outlasted a field of 417 entries to win the 2016 PartyPoker World Poker Tour Canadian Spring Championship $3,500 CAD no-limit hold’em main event.

The 27-year-old poker pro hailing from Bend, OR dominated the six-handed final table, eliminating four of his five opponents en path to winning his first WPT title and the first-place prize of $226,893 CAD ($176,228 USD).

Davies also earned 1,080 Player of the Year points for the win, enough to transport him into 67th place within the overall standings.

Sixth-place finisher Tony Dunst earned 360 points at his second major final table of the year. The 2016 Aussie Millions $10,000 main event runner up now has 2,260 total points and $739,922 in year-to-date earnings and has climbed into ninth place at the leader board as a result.

EPT Grand Final €2,150 Six-Max

As the eu Poker Tour Grand Final wound down a €2,150 buy-in six-max no-limit hold’em event was held that attracted 132 entries. The smaller event may not have had the most important prize pool ($291,470 USD) nevertheless it did help in making some changes to the highest ten within the standings.

Chance Kornuth finished runner up for $49,630 and 220 points. This was his his sixth final table of the year and helped him close the gap between himself and current leader Ari Engel. He now sits only 144 points out from the highest spot. With two titles and $1,608,105 in year-to-date earnings he's having quite the year already.

Igor Kurganov made his seventh final table of 2016 and finished fourth for $26,710 and 132 points. He moved into eighth place within the rankings in consequence with 2,334 points and $1,499,145 in earnings to this point this year.

EPT Grand Final Main Event

Jan Bendik has won the 2016 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final €5,300 no-limit hold’em main event.

The 51-year-old defeated a record field of 1,098 entries, the biggest in tournament’s 12-year history, to become the primary ever Slovakian EPT champion and win the €961,800 ($1,097,077 USD) first-place prize.

Bendik also scored 1,920 POY points for the win. This was his first POY-qualified score of the year however it alone was enough to peer him jump into 15th place within the standings.

Runner-up Adrien Allain earned €577,800 ($659,068 USD) in addition to 1,600 points. This moved him into 31st place at the leader board.
