Viktor Blom and Gus Hansen, two of the worst performing players within the history of online poker, are not any longer sponsored by online gambling site Full Tilt.
According to reports, their contracts weren't renewed, which was speculated since a domain redesign didn't feature either of the poker pros, who were members of the site’s now-defunct “The Professionals.”
Tom Dwan was the third member of the group, but he left earlier this year.
Full Tilt (formerly Full Tilt Poker) was acquired by PokerStars’ parent company in 2012 and relaunched with just the 3 sponsored players, down from dozens and dozens that represented the location when it was under prior ownership. Rational Group, the landlord of PokerStars and entire Tilt, was sold this past summer to Amaya Gaming Group, that's looking to bring both platforms back to the united states.. in some capacity via a state regulated market (possibly New Jersey).
Card Player’s try to contact a spokesperson for Full Tilt/PokerStars went unreturned.
Hansen, down greater than $20 million lifetime on Full Tilt’s software, and Blom, down roughly $3 million in his career at the site, are two of essentially the most recognizable faces within the poker world. It's been speculated that the 2 might be moving over to symbolize PokerStars, but there was nothing to make sure of deny that rumor at present time.
Full Tilt not way back began offering other casino games, which fuels the idea that Blom and Hansen could be joining the roster of Team PokerStars Pros, which already includes the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Selbst and Liv Boeree. Though, PokerStars was trimming its list of professionals. Recent departures include Joe Cada and Marcel Luske.
Blom used to be a PokerStars sponsored player before moving over to Full Tilt.
PokerNews quoted an anonymous source on the company who said that Full Tilt is “moving clear of pro-centric advertising to concentrate on the experiences and stories of the majority of our players.” That will make sense if the point of interest for the location goes to be less on poker and more on other casino-style games. The domain name is, after all, FullTilt.com and the positioning makes it clear on its homepage that it doesn’t offer just poker.
It would seem that the 2 platforms may be more distinct from another than ever before. Though, Full Tilt historically has offered bigger cash games than PokerStars.
