September was a hectic month for 888. Take a look at its biggest winners!
Sundays are always the largest day of the week at 888poker with probably the most regularly scheduled tournaments featuring larger than normal guaranteed prize pools and a few special tournaments, just like the Mega Deep and the Sunday Challenge.
If that isn't enough, 888poker also hosts the Whale and the newborn Whale on alternating Sundays.
This past month provided much more excitement with the return of the Super XL series. The highlight of this series was Event #36 $1,500,000 Super XL Main Event. The tournament generated an enormous $1,740,000 prize pool with three players grabbing the lion's share of the prize pool way to a deal made at the final table.
Officially winning the development was "GetLuckyAK" for $261,215 followed by Sami "d144n1" Kelopuro banking $210,811 for second place and 888poker Ambassador Dominik "888Dominik" Nitsche snagging $206,400 for third place.
Other Super XL winners in big Sunday events included "LCFish" (Event #4 $200,000 Super XL - Mega Deep - $40,630), Michael "AcesJoker88" Acevedo (Event #5 $300,000 Super XL - Opening Event - $59,284), Adam "Adamyid" Owen (Event #7 $250,000 Super XL - Whale - $57,130), Vladislav "heysweety" Donchev (Event #35 $200,000 Super XL - Mega Deep - $46,104) and Sech "T0X16" Zehn (Event #37 $150,000 Super XL - Mini Main Event - $39,649).
While the largest prizes did come throughout the Super XL, many other players scored big inside the month. Some notable players to ship big tournaments in September included Mat "checktrap11" Cuthbertson taking down The $100,000 Whale for $37,609 on Sept. 4, Rafael "nitGMmator" Moraes winning the $80,000 Sunday Challenge 1R for $18,124 on Sept. 4, Jon "jareth3542" Clark notching a win within the $150,000 Mega Deep for $30,842 on Sept. 11 and Luis "gkamei09" Gustavo Kamei striking gold within the $80,000 Sunday Challenge 1R on Sept. 18 for $16,366.
