The final table is ready within the second annual World Poker Tour Maryland Live! $3,500 no-limit hold’em main event and it's stacked. A COMPLETE of 554 entries were made in 2016, up from 337 entries within the inaugural running, bringing the whole prize pool of $1,772,800. After two starting days and two more days of combined action the sector was narrowed to simply six players, all of whom are hoping to emerge victorious with the title and the first-place prize of $356,536.
The chip leader heading into the overall day is Ryan Belz with 4,865,000. Close behind is two-time WPT main event winner Darren Elias with 4,515,000. Elias may be seeking to become only the fifth player in poker history to win three titles at the main tour, but will face quite a lot of stiff competition including former online pro Mario Sylvestri III (2,700,000), current WPT Player of the Year leader Benjamin Zamani (2,075,000) and three-time WPT final tablist Cate Hall (1,235,000).
Zamani had already made two final tables within the WPT’s 15th season, finishing runner-up both times. He earned $412,234 for his second-place showing on the WPT Choctaw main event and added another $341,412 this autumn when he placed second within the WPT Legends of Poker on the Bicycle Hotel & Casino.
Cate Hall made three WPT final tables last season, including a fifth-place finish within the 2015 running of this event for $58,589. The remainder players are all now guaranteed a $68,554 payday.
The final six will return at 3 p.m. local time on Wednesday to minimize to a champion.
