2014 ACOP: PokerStars partners with MBP for top Roller events



PokerStars is proud to announce that it has partnered with Macau Billionaire Poker (MBP) for the 2 high roller events on the 2014 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) which occurs on the 'PokerStars LIVE Macau' poker site from October 24 to November 9.

MBP is similar group that hosted the 2013 GuangDong Ltd Asia Millions (GDAM) tournament last year which was also co-branded with PokerStars. The HK$1 million buy-in event had 125 entries with a huge prize pool of HKD$119,375,000 (USD $15.4 million). "It's incredibly exciting to work with MBP again and to have them sponsoring our high roller events on the ACOP," said APPT President Danny McDonagh. "Their reach within the region is exceptional and will double or triple the participation in both the 250k and 500k events."In anticipation of the bigger fields, the HK$500,000 (USD $65,000) Super High Roller has changed from a 2-day event to a 3-day event from November 1-3 and makes it possible for two rebuys. Meanwhile, the HK$250,000 (USD $32,000) High Roller is a freezeout event that concludes the poker festival from November 8-9.

Germany's Niklas Heinecker won the 2013 GDAM event together with the HK$34.6 million (USD $4.5 million) top prize after defeating a last table stuffed with top poker professionals comparable to Jeff Rossiter, Sorel Mizzi, and Team PokerStars Online's Isaac Haxton.
