Pete Chen wins APOY, Celina Lin and Steve O'Dwyer top all-time lists



Taiwanese poker professional Pete Chen has officially been named because the 2014 Asia Player of the Year (APOY) after delivering one of the vital greatest seasons for the reason that ranking system was introduced in 2009.

Chen set the record for largest margin of victory (1,714) and his final score of 5,691 points is the second one biggest single-season total.

On the year, Chen earned HK$1,383,511 in Official APOY events. He finished the season with one title and 7 final tables -- including the principle events at APPT Macau and Macau Poker Cup 21 in August.

The 26-year old may have his name immortalized at the gold APOY legacy trophy (pictured with Chen below) joining past champions corresponding to Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang who won the award in 2010.

Chen's win also features a one-year sponsorship to PokerStars Asia special events beginning in 2015.

Chen's results places him at No. 14 at the all-time list.

Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin tops the all time list for points (12,434) and final tables (26). Meanwhile, her four victories also places her in a five-way tie for essentially the most titles in Official APOY events.

Steve O'Dwyer catapulted to the highest of the best-ever earnings list with HK$14,112,100 in winnings. The 32-year old Irish poker pro soared up the money leaderboard behind his biggest career win within the Super High Roller event on the 2014 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP).
