Jared Jaffee (60th place), Jack Schanbacher (48th), Nick Jivkov (37th), Kane Kalas (34th), Tristan Wade (29th), Justin Liberto (23rd), Brandon Cantu (18th), Mark Herm (15th), and Brian Lemke (14th) were among the players to make the final 62 and cash in the Main Event of the popular Big Stax series.

The players who outlasted them to make the nine-handed official final table were mostly ananonymous bunch, with Roberts the clear headliner. According to the live updates, Roberts went into the final table with a solid stack of more than 40 big blinds, but found nothing to get involved with early in play as the first three eliminations occurred before dinner break without Roberts playing a major pot.

His count had inched from over 3.6 million to 4.7 million by the time he made his move, with blinds at 75,000/150,000/25,000. Roberts opened for a min-raise and got two callers, and after a {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop he check-raised to 1.1 million after John Lee bet 400,000. Lee put him all in, and Roberts quickly called with eights, crushing Lee's fives.

David Datashvili went bust in sixth, followed by a short-stacked Lee in fifth. Roberts then grabbed the chip lead in a blind-versus-button spot when he three-bet an open from Andy Santiago and saw his opponent four-bet shove all in for 31 big blinds. Roberts held aces and snap-called, and Santiago was in rough shape with the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The board rolled out {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Roberts had surged into the lead.

The run of premium hands continued when Roberts picked up kings blind versus blind and watched Tom Thomas three-bet shove 44 big blinds over his open. Roberts called and held against the {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Already the chip leader before that hand, Roberts was massively in front and sent Santiago then Mike Hollenberg packing to roll to the title.
