Stefan Schillhabel has soared up to 355,000 after he eliminated Jaroslav Miklik
in a cold battle of the blinds.
The latter raised from the small blind and called when the former three-bet him. The flop fell [kd][ad][tc] and Miklik check-called 6,700. The turn was the [kc] and Miklik check-raised all in for around 50,000 after Schillhabel had fired another 18,500. Snap call.

Miklik: [ks][9h] for turned trips.

The old aces versus kings set up is never a nice way, especially once you've got a start in a tournament, to lose most of your stack.
Tom Kitt opened to 3,000 before Casey Kastle three-bet to 9,000. Padraic Cusack was in the small blind and put in a four-bet to 19,500 before Edward Tomb quickly five-bet all in for 71,200. Kitt and Castle folded but Cusack snap called.

Also sat at this Olivier Ferrero who has amassed 421,000! Yep, you read that right. Apparently he's been hitting set over sets for fun. -- MC
8:20pm: Two out

Two short stacks tried to get rich, but died trying.
First to chance his arm was Franck Lini. The Frenchman was heads-up to a [Tc][Kh][Qs] flop against John Bagnal. He bet 7,000 and Bagnal smooth called.
On the [8d] turn Lini moved all-in for 26,200 and after getting a count of the shove, Bagnal called.

Bagnal asked for a deuce and he got his wish on the [2s] river. -
A few minutes later Cormac O'Higgins was at risk for his last 17,000 with [Ac][8d] and in front of Cornelis Van Gent's [Kc][Js].
The [Qh][Ts][Ad] flop soon reversed the order of things though and neither the [2d] turn or [6d] river could save O'Higgins. -NW

Unfortunately the money we have won't go around everyone, so we're going to choose our favourite 151 players and rank them in order. Okay, we're not allowed to do that, this money (not ours either) had to be earned by the best of you. Prize pool information is in!
The 1002 entries helped create a prize pool of €971,940, with the top 151 getting paid. A min cash will earn you €1,710 and if you make Monday's final eight, then that figure will have jumped to €16,840. The winner? He or she will earn a tidy €176,900. -- MC

7:10pm: Akenhead misses, somehow

Poor Alexandre Rivero, he got his stack of 12,600 in against James Akenhead in a race situation, but the board kept on getting increasingly worse for the Brazilian.
He'd shoved with [2s][2h] and Akenhead - who had about 170,000 at this point - isolated from the small blind with [Ac][8h].
The [9c][4c][Kc] flop gave Akenhead flush outs, the [9h] turn opened up the possibility of the counterfeit knock out but the [5d] river was one of Rivero's clean cards and he doubled up. --NW

As the players head to dinner these players below are the chip leaders. "I've been getting very good cards and very good situations," said Adam Owen when we asked how he'd accumulated his 175,500. Owen, who's better known for his mixed games prowess, was all smiles as he told us that.

Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov was very short but now finds himself just short.
The action folded around to Katchalov on the button and he moved all in for 3,600. David Vida was in the big blind and called with [9c][2d]. Katchalov opened [jc][9s] and survived a [5c][5d][5s][6c][ac]. -- MC
5:35pm: Firm triangle

Poker's Firm members Daragh Davey, Dara O'Kearney and Padraig O'Neill (still a member?) are sat in a triangle formation after the latter was moved to the right of the former. Apparently triangles are the most stable of shapes, too!
O'Kearney's sat right behind them and won a pot after getting Matti Salminenna to fold on the river.
"Doke" raised to 2,000 from middle position and was called by Salminenna in the next seat, along with the big blind. The flop fanned [6h][8s][kh] and Doke's 3,500 c-bet was only called by Salminenna. Both checked the [2s] before a 6,000 bet on the [6d] river got the job done. -- MC

Smash! Another record has fallen as we can confirm this is the biggest ever UKIPT Main Event on Irish soil. A total of 788 players played today and added to the 214 from yesterday this event has just squeaked into the four-figure club. So doing the math that makes 1,002 runners in total.

4:55pm: Chantler played aces like a boss

Gareth Chantler needed something to happen with his micro stack. He did and it enabled him to more than triple up.
Jeremy Mortimore opened to 1,800 from under the gun before Chantler moved all in for 2,400 from the hijack. UKIPT Cork champion Thomas Finneran was one more seat long and sat behind a 135,000 stack - he took his time and called as did Mortimore.
The board ran out [ts][7h][5h][3d][6s] with both opponents checking all the way. Mortimore's [ac][js] and Finneran's [qc][jh] were no match for Chantler's [as][ah].
"Nice hand," said Mortimore.
"I didn't know how to play it," said a very deadpan Chantler and it caused a ripple of laughter around the table. -- MC

Kerryjane Craigie runs a very tight ship, as Head of Poker at Hippodrome Casino and it seems she runs an even tighter one here at the RDS in Dublin.
She ran into our photographer and recounted an interesting situation she found herself in when in the ladies' toilet on break.
She was standing in there when four guys walked into the wrong bathroom. When she told them to get out, the reply she was given was, "We're French!"
This obviously didn't cut the mustard with Craigie so she protested and they added, "Have you never been in a men's bathroom?"
"NO!!" ended that conversation. -- MC
